love
at the age of 4, the first word our daughter wrote was "love". she wanted to send it to her "sister"--our former foster daughter. it is amazing how strong a bond can be between two little girls after only 4.5 months. we look forward to azure's prayers being answered through a birth mom that connects with us.
Scroll down to see how the story unfolds. . . . (this is what jonathan looked like back in 2002 when we met.)
allison and her first "baby"
his name was goliath! i moved to AZ with a few suitcases and a bicycle. i didn't want to buy a car because i couldn't pay cash and i didn't want to deal with the repairs. i figured this was a fun yet practical option. i miss him.
jonathan was a dating fool when our paths crossed. he knew how to woo the women with only a few pennies and lots of imagination.
a special date night
i thought it was a magical night and that i would finally get a goodnight kiss... but j believes that you should care more about the girl than the kiss. so, he waited. in the end, i think he was right. a kiss can really confuse the issue.
what a feeling! - 2004
this is the 1st temple allison attended as a young woman. it was a precious experience to watch my brother marry his bride in this holy house.
aloha! - 2005
we were in charge of the ward luau. allison taught hula. jonathan made everyone feel welcome. azure's job was to be cute.
serendipity
we didn't plan on chasing waves... but daddy couldn't resist the call of the ocean.
law school graduation - 2007
way to go jonathan! you balanced fatherhood, graduate school and church responsibilities beautifully.
spooky and yummy?
these spider cakes are a new tradition in honor of a good friend who recently lost her battle to cancer. she knew how to celebrate. allison wants to be like her when she grows up!
happy hallowe'en - 2007
the caveman, tiger and princess got lots of wear out of their costumes. azure still likes to wear her's every other day!
night in bethlehem
ward christmas party 2008. dressing like they did long ago sure set the tone for the evening.
music class
we love to learn! ms. kelly has the best music class.
daddy's special talent: makes learning fun!
edible letters anyone? jonathan has an amazing ability to make fun time everyday for his daughter. he's an amazing father. i think he values life more because his dad died when he was 16 years old.
room for one more!
our first try with the new bike trailer... jonathan is better at it than i am.
